A Nyugat-magyarországi Egyetem hagyományai szerint (Selmeci hagyományok) egy hanyag diákot azzal a mondattal buktatott meg professzora, hogy csak akkor fog levizsgázni, ha a háza előtt a téren a kőhattyú tollat növeszt. A diáknak sem kellett több, némi csiríz és egy tollpárna segítségével megoldotta a problémát. A professzor vette a lapot...
A végzős egyetemisták az államvizsga, és általában a vizsgaidőszak előtt azóta is buzgón tollasítják a jószágot.
According to the tradition of the University of West-Hungary (traditions of Selmec), a negligent untergrad faild to pass an exam and his professor said he can pass it only when the stone swan in front of his house will be feathery. The untergrad solved the problem with flour-paste and a pillow. The professor allowed him to pass the exam next time but asked him for be care for serious things not foolishness.
The graduates before the state exam, and the untergrads at the beginning of an exam season are busy"

eat Washington > Borlotti beans, fresh: "Can't wait to get back over to Han Ha Reum, otherwise known simply as H :-) When I lived in Hungary, the northwestern part of the country (Sopron and environs) was known as bean country, and in the town of Sopron itself there was an area called the 'bean district,' which was largely settled by people of German and Austrain descent. They grew beans in between rows of other crops and would make many different dishes from them, including babpogacs (bean biscuits)and a wonderful simple salad called babsalata (bean salad) comprised of borlotti bean with red onions, garlic, and a sweet and sour dressing. Hmmm...I'll have to include those two recipes in the cookbook I'm working on ;-)"
