MWNF - Museum With No Frontiers: "The history of the Church of St. George in Sopron dates back to the 14th century. Henrik Schmuckenpfennig donated the site to the church as a penance in 1393. The forerunner of the church was also built by Schmuckenpfennig with donations from the Guild of St. George. The old one-nave church, with a tower facing west boasted eight altars, the installation of which was drawn out until the 1480s."
