MWNF - Museum With No Frontiers: "Dorffmaister was a student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna from 1751 to 1759. In 1762 he settled in Sopron and worked until his death almost exclusively for Hungarian patrons as a fresco and altarpiece painter. He took commissions from everyone – bishops, various monastic orders and town or village communities."
