The other night I stopped in for a drink at Tündérgyár ('fairy factory') a smoky little dive known until recently as the Jailhouse Club. While there, I picked up a flyer for an upcoming show there by a combo called Long Tall Sonny and His Wild Cows. Well, I just popped in on www.sonny.hu and found some vids of the Sopron-born rocker and his band including the above, which made my day, if not my month. When we published this lengthy feature about the Hungarian rockabilly scene a couple of years back, Sonny didn't even get a mention, meaning he's only one of many such horned-rimmed all-American acts shaking up the Carpathian Basin. Fucking awesome."
