Number of international conferences in Hungary up 53% last year | The Budapest Business Journal on the web | bbj.hu: "The number of international conferences in Hungary climbed more than 50% to 537 in 2010 from the previous year, state tourism agency Magyar Turizmus told MTI on Tuesday.
The number of participants at the conferences rose 53% to about 125,000. About 81% of participants arrived from abroad and 19% came from Hungary, Magyar Turizmus said, citing data compiled by the Hungarian Congress Office.
Most of the international conferences were held in Budapest. The runner-up was Pécs, which was one of the 2010 European Capitals of Culture. Sopron and Szeged tied for third place.
