Salmon triptych accompanies refugee back to Germany
The four-metre totem carved by Jozsa from a yellow cedar log with its swimming salmon is also an allegory of his life’s journey — from fleeing Hungary in 1956 as an 18-year-old when Russian tanks scattered Jozsa and his Sopron University classmates, to his journey to Canada as a refugee, and now his return to his old university in September to receive a gold diploma marking the 50th anniversary of his graduation.
