The demonstration in Hungary’s second-largest city was preceded by others in the university towns of Pécs and Sopron. Hungarian National Student Union (HÖOK) president Dávid Nagy announced a further series of protests in late October, saying that the "covert tuition fees" and contracts tying graduates to work in Hungary are "unacceptable".
Education deputy state secretary László Dux said the details on the brain-drain fighting contracts have not been finalised yet.
