GYÖR Sopron Ebenfurth Railway (GySEV) confirmed on March 30 that it has selected Stadler as preferred bidder for a contract to supply four emus.
The new trains will operate regional services on the 55km Szombathely - Szentgotthárd line in western Hungary, which GySEV took over from Hungarian State Railways (MÁV) in 2006. GySEV completed the electrification and upgrading of the line last year and currently uses locomotive-haulage for regional services.
