Showing no signs of stopping: "His most important move came in 1957 when the revolution forced the Hungarian School of Forestry to evacuate its home in Sopron. The University of British Columbia's faculty of forestry provided a home for the Sopron students and faculty, including their athletic director, one Frank Kurucz.
Once the Sopron students had graduated and dispersed into the world of forestry, Kurucz went off campus to the YMCA on Burrard for five years before moving to the West Vancouver YMCA, located at that time in Ambleside at the corner of 17th Street and Marine Drive."
